Krys joined Willow House in September 2025. Having experienced the loss of several close family members as a teen, she was drawn early in life to walk alongside others in their grief and bring compassion to those navigating loss.
She holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College and a Master of Divinity from Marylhurst University. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Krys moved to Chicago in 2020 and now serves as a bereavement specialist, supporting children, teens, and adults as they navigate the profound loss of a child. She brings a trauma-informed and compassionate approach, creating safe and supportive spaces where grief can be honored.
Outside of her professional work, Krys is an avid knitter who rarely leaves home without her latest project. She also enjoys long walks along Lake Michigan with her energetic dog, and delights in watching her children grow.
